Trends in the Proportion of the Population Consuming More than 500 g of Fruits and Vegetables per Day, 2016–2023

The proportion of the population consuming more than 500 g of fruits and vegetables per day (age standardization) among those aged 6 and over was 22.1% in 2023, representing an 11.0%p decrease compared to 2016 (Figure 1). The proportion for women was lower than that for men in 2023, and the proportion for women aged 12–29 was below 10% (Figure 2).

*Proportion of the population consuming more than 500 g of fruits and vegetables per day: proportion of the population aged 6 and over eating more than 500 g of fruits and vegetables per day.

The mean in Figure 1 was calculated using age- and sex-specific structures of the estimated population in the 2005 Korea Census.

The proportion of the population consuming more than 500 g of fruits and vegetables per day (age standardization) among those aged 6 and over was 22.1% in 2023, representing an 11.0%p decrease compared to 2016 (Figure 1).
